My New Babies

I have gotten increasingly annoyed with the ivy I bought to keep my orchids company. First, the plants outgrew their tiny pots in like, a week, and second, they’re not so pretty to look at. So on a recent trip to the hardware store, I picked up new pots for the ivy, some soil, and these:

Sansevieria trifasciata v. Golden Hahnii

They are Sansevieria trafasciata ‘Golden Hahnii’, which I believe is one of many different plants commonly known as a bird’s nest plant. They’re supposed to be slow-growing, low-light plants which makes them good companions for my orchids. They only need occasional watering, but can tolerate the higher humidity that the orchids like.

These pretty babies have replaced the ivy on the living room beautification detail. The ivy has been relegated to the porch.

Total plant count: 8. And that doesn’t count the 4 I’m fostering for a friend, or the cuttings of rosemary and spider plant being offered by said friend.
